The magnificent towering Karri Forest lines the Warren River and has a few climbable trees, if you dare. Spend a couple of nights at the relaxed Rainbow Beach and check out the great 4WD tracks in the Great Sandy National Park. Thankfully the waters here dont have the full forces of the sea crashing into them, so wave carnage wont be a concern if you got bogged. Just south of Bath Beach lies another beautiful beach known as Birthday beach, and theres a couple of little bays in between that are worth a look. That is where the real magic lies. Standing on the cliffs watching the sea life including dugongs is simply sublime. Mt Nameless is a short 4WD track to the top of the mountain, just out of Tom Price. This is a track you want to be very prepared for, especially if its rained a lot. 3. There are also water crossings, with depths depending on how far into the dry season (May to November) you are travelling. The 90 Mile Beach OHV Trail is used as a scenic highway for 4WD vehicles. Cheynes Beach and Waychinicup National Park have some great 4WDing with spectacular views. Its a short drive in, that takes you to the top of the cliff looking down at a stunning beach, or down the bottom right near the beach (but not onto it). Just across Shelter Bay lies Dirk Hartog Island; the ultimate place for adventure in WA. The road itself varies from dirt, washouts and bone shattering corrugations. I would be looking at some light truck (non negotiable) and all terrain if possible. Now dont stress about that pressure because itll achieve a bunch of things. Its a great track, but go prepared in winter as it gets very boggy. It may not display this or other websites correctly. If you have a mobile phone, coverage with Telstra is OK in a lot of the park with the exception of the very bottom end and in the hollows between the bigger dunes where it can be a little patchy. Halfway between Denmark and Albany on the South Coast, this triangular shaped peninsular is the southernmost place in Western Australia. In summer with the milder tides you shouldnt have any dramas along here as theres plenty of room between the HIGH and LOW watermarks, but winter and spring needs some caution exercised particularly around a full moon on a high tide, as you might find theres no beach to run on and the top track is submerged.
